Wonderful Websites

Maths is Fun!

As the site tells us, "The idea behind the site is to offer mathematics as well as some fun bits, and to combine the two wherever possible." This site includes animations of standard algortihms, as well as great explanations of concepts, along with games. The site to go to when explaining long division to your fourth grader!

A+ Math

A very useful site, with some fun games too. Students (or parents) can make customized flashcards or worksheets, or practice online. Kids can also play "Matho" (like Bingo) and find the Hidden Picture- just answer the math problems.

FunBrain

A well designed site with many different types of practice games. It has minimum of advertising and some sections are not for free. Among the free games, I like "Math Brain' - it requires students to win 25 short games to win the title of "Math Brain.' "Math Baseball' lets children choose the level of a question to get a "single', "double,' etc. to move players around the bases. This site also has word games and pure arcade style games.

Ask Dr. Math

This is a question and answer service provided by the Math Forum of Drexel University. If the question can't wait until tomorrow, you will definitely find the answer here!
