5th graders working

The past week was a busy one at Coolidge School! We kicked off the week with Earth Day lessons in each of our classrooms.  Fifth graders took part in their annual Earth Day activities on Tuesday morning. They did a tremendous job removing garbage and debris from the woods behind the school, listened to environmental presentations, and also planted tree saplings. To celebrate Take Your Child to Work Day, we were fortunate to have several staff members bring their children into our school community. Students enjoyed meeting the children of our staff members and getting to know them. We also celebrated Administrative Professionals Day and thanked Mrs. Gneiding and Mrs. Venema for all they do for our school community. Students made cards and posters to show their appreciation. Lastly, our 5th-grade students visited Eisenhower School on Monday for an orientation. They heard presentations from students, the guidance counselor, and school administrators, and also had the opportunity to tour the school.

As a reminder, your 3rd-5th-grade student should have a pair of headphones in school for the upcoming NJSLA assessment. Please be sure to check if your child has a pair of headphones in school that are in proper working condition.

The next Student Council meeting for grades 4-5 will take place this Thursday, 5/1, at 8:00 AM.

Message from Mr. Cosman regarding this week’s school musical rehearsals: Check out the updated April Calendar for this week's upcoming musical rehearsal schedule. Students should enter directly via the gym doors. Contact Mr. Cosman if you have any questions, or refer to his email.

FIELD DAY

The 2025 Coolidge Field Day will be on Friday, May 23rd, and the rain date is Tuesday, May 27th. The PE department is excited to unveil our "Day at the Zoo" theme and seeks parent volunteers to help run the event.

Please complete this form if you want to be part of the selection process.  We have 60 volunteer spots available and plan to use a lottery system to select the volunteers.

All submissions are due by the end of the day on Sunday, May 4th, and you will be notified by May 7th of your status for the event.

ATTENTION 5TH GRADE PARENTS

Dear 5th Grade Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to invite you to 5th Grade Parent Transition Night at Eisenhower Middle School on Wednesday, April 30th, from 6 - 7 pm. This special evening is designed to help you learn more about what to expect as your child enters middle school. You'll have the opportunity to meet the team, tour the building, and get your questions answered.  We hope you’ll join us as we take this important step together in your child’s educational journey!

Sincerely,

The EMS Team

I-READY LOGIN AND DIRECTIONS

All students have completed their third i-Ready Diagnostic (Kindergarten has completed their first i-Ready Diagnostic). The Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that identifies students’ strengths and opportunities for growth. That information helps determine how to best support their learning and helps teachers set goals and personalize small group instruction. Here are parent directions to access your child(ren)’s i-Ready reports.
