Coolidge School Update 5/27/25

As Memorial Day approaches, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our country. This important day reminds us to honor their service and reflect on the true meaning of freedom. We wish you and your families a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. We read a “Words of Wisdom” message to students on Friday to commemorate the day.

Due to the weather and wet field conditions, Field Day will now take place this Tuesday, May 27th. Our theme this year is "A Day at the Zoo". Students and staff are encouraged to wear animal print, Coolidge Spirit Wear, or blue/yellow. See below for more information.

5th grade students will be visiting Spring Lake Day Camp in Ringwood, NJ, this Wednesday, May 28th. Thank you to our 5th-grade chairs and our PTO for organizing and funding this event. Students are looking forward to a fun day! Additional information has been shared with 5th-grade parents via email.

The 4th and 5th grade instrumental concert will take place on June 12th at 7:00 PM. This year’s concert will be held at Eisenhower Middle School. Parents of 4th and 5th-grade students should review this letter for more information.

Kindergarten Previews will take place on Thursday and Friday, May 29th and 30th. If you have an incoming Kindergarten student, you should have been contacted already and should be signed up for a Preview Date. Please contact Mrs. Gneiding in the Coolidge main office if you have any questions.

This year’s Kindergarten Celebration will take place on June 11th at 11:00 AM in each Kindergarten classroom. More information will be provided by the Kindergarten teachers to the parents in each class.

Message from Mr. Cosman regarding this week’s school musical rehearsals: Check out the updated May Calendar for this week's upcoming musical rehearsal schedule. Students should enter directly via the gym doors. Contact Mr. Cosman if you have any questions, or refer to his email.

FIELD DAY- REMINDERS AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION

FIELD DAY WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON TUESDAY, MAY 27TH

Here are some helpful reminders to provide for a fun Field Day:

Students MUST wear sneakers, pants, or shorts. (No CROCs, sandals, flip-flops, etc.)
Please have your child wear sunscreen (put it on at home) and/or bring a hat, as we will be outside most of the day.
You may want to send a change of clothing for your child to change into for the afternoon (some stations may involve water, and your child may get wet and may want to change).
Students are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and refill it throughout the day.
Students are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue
