student council

We have made it to the last week of school. As a reminder, we will have minimum days on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with a 1:05 PM dismissal each day. On behalf of the Coolidge School staff, I wish you a healthy and happy summer! I am so thankful for your support and partnership throughout the year with our shared focus on helping our students meet academic, social, and emotional growth and success. Take some time to refresh, recharge, and renew. Report cards will be available on the Genesis parent portal on Friday, after 3:30 PM.

On behalf of Coolidge School, I would like to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all of the Coolidge Dads. Thank you for all that you do for the children!

Coolidge School held its traditional Flag Day Ceremony on Friday. We watched the Safety Patrol captains raise the flag, sang patriotic songs, and listened to speeches from our Student Council Executive Board about the importance of Flag Day. Did you know that in 1919, Calvin Coolidge, when governor of Massachusetts,  issued a proclamation in which he set June 14th as Flag Day. Additionally, as president, Coolidge issued a proclamation in 1927 calling on Americans to observe the 14th as Flag Day.

This past week, our third-grade students enjoyed a fun day of learning, discovery, hiking, and exploration at the Weis Environmental Center in Ringwood. We thank the parents who helped make this a successful trip for our students.

Mrs. Han has sent reminder emails to parents whose children still have unreturned library books. Please look around for these missing books this weekend and return them to school on Monday. If a book cannot be found, kindly contact Mrs. Han to determine how you may pay for the book or issue a replacement copy.

The Lost and Found is overflowing! All items will be donated to a local charity at the end of the school year, so please stop by the front foyer to look for any missing articles of clothing.

SUMMER RESOURCES FOR PARENTS

Our math interventionist, Mrs. Mendes, created this informative presentation filled with research, resources, and links for parents to help keep learning going all summer long. Embedded in this document is a separate presentation geared specifically to reading. Thank you, Mrs. Zivkovich, Coolidge reading specialist, for putting this together.

FIFTH-GRADE MEMORY BOOK CELEBRATION/VIDEO AND CLAP-OUT

Fifth-grade parents are invited to join us at 9:45 AM on Thursday. During this time, we will recognize each fifth grader during a brief ceremony and then share the “Memory Book” video that was created by our 5th-grade parent reps. Also, on Friday, 5th-grade parents are invited to cheer on their children on the lower blacktop at 12:55 for the fifth-grade clap-out. Try to arrive early as parking will be limited. Silly String is welcome!
