Dear Lincoln School Community,

This past week, our 5th grade began a celebration of the culmination of their elementary school experience with a wonderful trip to Spring Lake Day Camp in Ringwood, NJ. They had an amazing time coming together as a class for a day of fun in the sun, enjoying activities such as zip lining, paddle boats, basketball, arts & crafts, rock climbing, swimming, and much, much more. I was even able to join in the fun, and may have zip lined a few times! Thank you to our 5th grade trip chairs, Mrs. Conklin and Mrs. Rotoli, for planning such a terrific experience, our PTO for their generous support of the trip, our staff for their supervision and participation in the day, and our 5th graders for being such awesome representatives of Lincoln School!

The spring “Bike and Walk to School Day” for all students and the annual “Bike Safety Rally” for grades 3 and 4 are both scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th. Please be sure that your child’s bicycle is in good working order and that they have a well fitting helmet. There will be a series of obstacle course stations for our 3rd and 4th graders in addition to a safety assembly for several Wyckoff Police Officers.

We look forward to seeing many of our 5th grade families at their production of the musical The Little Mermaid on Thursday, May 28th. The matinee for students will be held at 2:00 pm, and the evening show for families and guests will be held at 7:00 pm in the Lincoln School gymnasium. In addition, our 4th and 5th grade Spring Instrumental Band Concert will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd.  Performances of the Spring Instrumental Band Concert will also be at 2:00 pm for students and 7:00 pm for guests. Please note that the 7 pm Instrumental Band Concert performance will be held at Eisenhower Middle School.

With the end of the school year rapidly approaching, we are busy inventorying our Media Center. Mrs. Husstege and I ask that all library books are returned by Monday, June 1st. Please contact Mrs. Husstege with any questions. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

As we head into the Memorial Day weekend, I’d like to take a moment and recognize the many brave men and women who have given their lives in service to our nation. Their courage and sacrifice have provided us with the freedoms we enjoy, and given us an opportunity to live, learn, and work in such a wonderful community as Wyckoff. Please have a happy, safe, and relaxing Memorial Day weekend, and as a reminder, all schools are closed on Monday, May 25th.

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee

Principal
