Dear Sicomac Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. While we’ve been enjoying a beautiful stretch of fall weather, the real excitement is happening inside our classrooms. Our students are engaged, thriving, and soaring this season, and we are looking forward to another productive week ahead. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us for the PTO Military Bridge fundraiser! Your energy, friendly competition, and generosity made it a memorable night for our school community.
Please read on for this week’s important updates and announcements.

Wear Pink Tuesday 10/27
We invite all students and staff to wear pink this Tuesday to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a simple way for our school family to stand together, raise awareness, and show our support for those impacted by breast cancer in our community and beyond.
Picture Retake Day
Picture Retake Day will take place on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 11:00 am. The photographer will take photos of students who were absent on our original Picture Day, as well as those retaking their photo upon parent request. If you would like your child to have their photo retaken, please notify your child's teacher via email by Thursday, October 29, 2026.
Halloween Celebrations
We are looking forward to our annual Halloween celebration! The Sicomac School Halloween Parade will take place on Friday, October 30 at 2:00 pm.
Costumes - If your child's costume is comfortable and allows them to safely participate in learning, recess, PE, and restroom visits, it may be worn to school in the morning. Costume attachments, accessories, or costumes that cannot be easily worn throughout the day should be brought to school in a labeled bag. Students will be given time to change before the parade.
Safety - Please ensure all costumes are school-appropriate and safe. Toy weapons (guns, swords, etc.) are strictly prohibited. Masks are not allowed to be worn during the school day, but will be permitted for the parade.
Treats & Goody Bags - Please do not send goody bags or treats for the class. Class parties are organized and managed by Class Parents and teachers, and school policy does not permit the distribution of individual gifts or snacks.
We hope you can join us to celebrate this fun tradition! Thank you for your cooperation.
Parent Teacher Conferences
You should have received an email from your child’s classroom teacher to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences on November 9th and 16th. If you have not received an email, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher. A link to sign up for special area teacher conferences will be sent shortly.
