Dear Sicomac Families,
As I reflect on the first two months of the school year, I am incredibly proud of our Sicomac students and staff for the strong and joyful start we’ve had. Your children are growing up! They are making friends, solving problems, and working together every day. Thank you for sending them to school with such enthusiasm and energy. It truly brings our classrooms to life.
Today was a festive one at Sicomac! It was wonderful to see the creativity and spirit behind so many fun costumes parading through our hallways. Thank you for helping us follow school guidelines and ensuring the day was safe and enjoyable for all. Also, thank you for keeping up with our latest updates for our parade routes.
On Tuesday, we held our first in-person PTO meeting of the year, and it was both well-attended and productive. Many of you joined me in visiting classrooms (special thanks to Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Conners, and Mrs. Cordello) for a peek at what I get to see every day. Parents shared how they noticed students feeling safe to take intellectual risks, collaborating to build real-world skills, and engaging joyfully in their learning. I also want to thank our PTO Board for setting up a livestream for families who could not attend in person. I look forward to continuing these valuable opportunities to connect at future PTO events.

Student Council Elections
This week, our 3rd–5th grade hallway was transformed into a lively campaign trail, and candidates recorded their speeches with Mr. Mattoon. Our student council candidates have been sharing their big ideas with confidence and creativity, and I couldn’t be more impressed by their leadership and vision. Our upperclassmen will cast their votes this Tuesday on Election Day!

Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on November 10th and 17th. Conferences will run from 12:15–8:00 p.m. on November 10th and 2:00–7:00 p.m. on November 17th. You should have received sign-up directions earlier this week. If you haven’t yet scheduled your conference, please check your email or reach out to your child’s teacher. If you would like to schedule a conference with one of our specialist teachers, please sign up here. We look forward to connecting with you!
