Dear Sicomac Families,
The sun is shining, the weather is warming up, and we are only 5 school days away from Spring Break! Perfect timing to hear our first graders read their poems about spring time. Last week we wrapped up our K-5 Reading and Math iReady Diagnostics. I am thrilled to share that the early results show tremendous growth since our winter assessments. This progress is a testament to the dedication of our students and the hard work of our incredible staff.
Safety and Seasonal Reminders
With the arrival of warmer weather, please help us keep our students safe and ready for the day:
Keep the upper circle clear for buses and Pre-K arrival and dismissal
Ensure your child is wearing their helmet if biking or scooting to school
Please continue to send your child to school with appropriate footwear and clothing for school and outdoor play
Community and Partnership
Our recent in-person PTO meeting was a wonderful success! Highlights included a special preview of the opening number from our 5th-grade production of Seussical! Parents also visited our vibrant art room and observed Small Group Instruction (SGI) in Mrs. Goria’s Kindergarten class and math strategies in Ms. Patella’s 1st-grade room. While our final PTO meeting of the year will be virtual, we look forward to many more in-person opportunities this coming fall. Thank you for your continued to support of our school!
Mrs. Rightmyer joined Mrs. Mazie’s class for a captivating lesson on learning tools and neurodivergent strategies. We love seeing this level of teamwork and inclusive, interactive learning in action.

NJSLA Testing
This spring, students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will participate in the NJSLA assessments. Please review the attached letter from Dr. Postma and Mrs. White for specific details and testing protocols.
