OC

Dear Sicomac Families,

It is hard to believe that October is already here! With nearly a month of school in the books, we are wonderfully set up for the rest of the year. Thank you to all of our families and staff who made the start of the school year so strong. Our routines are firmly established, and we are firing on all cylinders. Enjoy the last bit of warm weather this weekend! We look forward to seeing everyone next week as we celebrate the Week of Respect.

Data Team Meetings

This past week, all of our grade level teaching teams met with me and our Instructional Leadership Team to dive deep into student data. These comprehensive meetings allow us to sharpen our instruction and design targeted small-group lessons tailored to every student's individual needs. It was a productive week, and those tailored strategies are already in action in our classrooms.

iReady Access

iReady Diagnostics are administered three times each year. These assessments are not graded. They provide valuable insight into student progress and growth over time. Please review the flyer below for instructions on how to access and interpret iReady results. If you have any questions please reach out to your child's teacher.

Week of Respect

Next week is the Week of Respect at Sicomac and across all of New Jersey. We have a week of special activities planned to reinforce how small acts of kindness make a big difference, and to celebrate respect as one of our core values as Sicomac Eagles. We encourage students to participate in our daily spirit theme days to show our collective solidarity and support for one another.

Sicomac Strut

The Sicomac Strut is a beloved tradition that promotes active lifestyles and the importance of giving back. Held during the school day, this fun event combines wellness with community support. Please ensure your child wears sneakers on event day. We will share more details regarding the accompanying food drive as the date approaches. The attached flyer is a save-the-date preview.

Congratulations!

We are fortunate to have so many talented student artists at Sicomac. I am thrilled to announce that artwork by Dylan Felix and Matthew Woessner was selected to adorn the front and back covers of this year's Sicomac Directory. Because we received so many incredible entries, we will display the other submissions throughout the school this fall. Special congratulations to Dylan and Matthew!

A Note from RIH

We are excited for another great night under the lights at Ramapo High School this Friday! We welcome our younger students to come out, support the Raiders, and enjoy the game.

Football nights bring large crowds, and we have had concerns about younger students running around campus and gathering in areas with limited supervision. To help keep the evening safe and enjoyable for everyone, please observe the following expectations for students in grade 8 or below who are not participating in the FLOW Recreation Event:

  • A parent, guardian, or responsible adult or older should accompany the student and remain at the game for its entire duration.

  • Students should not be dropped off and left unsupervised on school grounds before, during, or after the game.

  • Students must remain with their accompanying adult or in the designated student cheering area shown in the attached photo. The accompanying adult remains responsible for their supervision throughout the evening.

Students who are found engaging in unsafe or disruptive behavior on campus, or repeatedly leaving designated spectator areas, will be removed from the field/stadium area and required to contact a parent or guardian for pickup.

We want our younger Raiders cheering, having fun, and feeling part of the Ramapo community. Your support helps ensure they can do so safely and appropriately.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping make game night a great experience for everyone.

Go Po!

Mr. Jon Duncan, Ramapo High School Athletic Director and the Ramapo High School Administration
