3T thinks our new Buddy Bench is a hit!

3C are thrilled to bring their Yayoi Kusama pumpkins home!

3T has been learning about Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese artist known for creating large pumpkin sculptures covered in dots. We loved creating our own sculptures with Mrs. Goggi.

Preschool had a wonderful sensory experience watching a pumpkin carving by Mrs. Dehler. Students for to touch and smell the pumpkin and the pulpy seeds. We then painted pumpkins with Mrs. Goggi.

Creativity was in full swing during STEM Stations in the Sicomac Library! Students used a variety of materials to design seasonal pictures, build "Room on the Broom", and help five little pumpkins find their spots on a fence! We loved seeing their imagination, problem-solving, and teamwork in action! @sicomacpto

Sicomac Library students have been enjoying some wonderful surprise Mystery Readers this week! Our students love the excitement of discovering who will be sharing a story with their class. Thank you to our special guests for taking the time to share their love of reading with us! @sicomacpto

Our Sicomac Library students were glowing with creativity during Library STEM Stations! 🎃✨ Students designed and built their own pumpkins, then added lights to bring their creations to life! 💡🧡 A fun combination of creativity, engineering, and hands-on learning in the library! @sicomacpto

Third graders acted out their word study controlled text after many repeated readings. Fun and easy way to practice our reading fluency!

Thank you Health Barn. 1B taste testers gave many thumbs up to healthy nibbles. They even made sure Mr. Dunbar had some healthy treats!

1B scientists experimented with light both in the classroom "lab"and the sunny outdoors!

4th grade wrapped up our first unit! So many fun ways to practice place value. We love learning with manipulatives!!

KG was introduced to the art of Mark Rothko today. Students pointed out that his work uses layers of color on VERY big canvases. Artists created their own panels of color inspired by Rothkos artwork.

Third graders are learning about Yayoi Kusama and her famous dotted pumpkins. Today we added the basecoat to our clay pumpkins.

Thank you to our amazing Sicomac PTO for hosting another fantastic Military Bridge Night! Our Sicomac teachers had a wonderful time enjoying a fun evening together while supporting our school! We appreciate all that our PTO does for our Sicomac community! @sicomacpto

What a wonderful way to end the week in the Sicomac Library!
Our 4B students started by practicing their library organization skills, then checked out books and settled in for some peaceful reading time together.
It was such a joy to watch them relax on a Friday afternoon, completely content just enjoying books they had chosen for themselves. I'm so proud of their independence, responsibility, and love of reading! @sicomacpto

Third graders are having a blast exploring equal groups with multiplication!
